Radiator Services
Common Radiator Questions
Most manufacturers recommend flushing your cooling system every 30,000 miles or 2-3 years, whichever comes first. However, if you notice rusty coolant, engine overheating, or frequent coolant top-ups, you may need service sooner. Regular flushes prevent corrosion and keep your engine running efficiently.
Common causes include age and wear, corrosion from contaminated coolant, physical damage from road debris, and deterioration of hose connections. Small leaks can often be repaired, but if your radiator is very old or has significant damage, replacement may be more cost-effective.
It's not recommended. Even small leaks can lead to coolant loss, causing your engine to overheat and potentially causing serious damage. If you must drive, monitor your temperature gauge closely and keep coolant topped up. We recommend having it checked as soon as possible.
Most radiator replacements take 4-6 hours. After replacement, we pressure test the system, fill with coolant, and ensure everything is working properly before returning your vehicle to you.
Cooling System
Engine Cooling Questions
Common causes include low coolant levels, a failing thermostat, a malfunctioning water pump, clogged radiator, or a blown head gasket. We can diagnose the exact issue and provide the necessary repairs.
The thermostat regulates coolant flow through your engine. It stays closed when the engine is cold (to help it warm up faster) and opens when it reaches operating temperature (to allow coolant to flow and cool the engine). A failing thermostat can cause overheating or prevent proper warm-up.
Warning signs include coolant leaks (often near the front of the engine), squealing or grinding noises, engine overheating, and coolant residue on the engine components. If you notice any of these, have it checked promptly.
Coolant comes in different colors (green, orange, pink) depending on the type. Fresh coolant should be clear and bright. If it's rusty, murky, or has particles floating in it, it's time for a flush. Always use the type specified for your vehicle.
A/C Services
Air Conditioning Questions
Common causes include low refrigerant, a failing compressor, clogged cabin filter, or electrical issues. Our diagnostic service will identify the exact problem and provide a clear quote for repairs.
A properly sealed system should never need recharging. If your A/C is low on refrigerant, there's likely a leak. We always check for leaks before recharging and recommend fixing any issues found.
This is often caused by mold or bacteria growing in the evaporator case or cabin filter. We can clean the system and replace the filter to eliminate odors. Running the A/C regularly (even in winter) helps prevent this issue.
